FIGO Fistula Surgery Training Initiative 2027

The FIGO Fistula Surgery Training Initiative builds the capacities of local trainee fistula surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to provide treatment for women suffering from obstetric fistula in some of the world’s most underserved communities. Applications are now open for the 2027 cohort and close on 15 August 2026.

Scaling assisted vaginal birth in rural Tanzania

In rural northern Tanzania, many women struggle to reach hospital care and often arrive late in labour, increasing the risk of a prolonged second stage and complications. Assisted vaginal birth was rarely used but Haydom Lutheran Hospital adapted FIGO’s Good Practice Recommendations to their resource-limited setting, improving outcomes for mothers and babies.

PremPrep-5 implementation survey

The FIGO Committee on Preterm Birth invites you to take part in the FIGO PremPrep 5 implementation survey to support efforts to improve care and outcomes for babies born too soon. It will only take 5 to 10 minutes to complete and is available in English, French and Spanish.

FIGO and ICM launch joint statement on interprofessional collaboration
